Leapin' Lizards

Leapin' Lizards. The bugs and reptiles (lizards only) have been a little bit of a challenge for me since my arrival here. I am a hit with the mosquitoes, they love me! If I am outside for over 5 minutes without bug repellent, it is a guarantee I will get at least 10-20 bites.
Mosquito bites are big topic among other San Antonians. Inevitably,I receive various natural remedies to how to repel the mosquitoes and what they are drawn to. Apparently they are drawn to people who eat a bananas but not to people who keep a dyer sheet in there pockets. Though using a dryer sheet on your clothes does not repel. Whatever the reason may be I will be staying away from Komarno, Manitoba which holds tribute to the world's largest mosquito.

This summer has been a record for more rainfall in San Antonio than usual (yes we left Seattle only to arrive in more rain). With that, the bugs have come out in full force. In our house it was the Geckos. They are small, and we find them hanging out on the ceilings peering down at us. Knock on wood, it has been a few weeks since we last saw them. They do not creep me out as much as other bugs around here. Thought I would share some photos of our catch and release gecko sport (sealed in freshness).

On a totally different note: Since I have lost my dear TV show the Gilmore Girls I worried how would I replace it? This summer I have become a late bloomer to the series Ugly Betty. It is very funny and well written from the first episode and on. Admittedly I have also watched VH1 Scott Baio is 45 and single, I was almost bummed when it ended, Chachi was growing on me.
