Getting in the Spirit of Things

What is more fun than dressing up your dog! It got me in the spirit of things.

I thought I would post some distinctive landmarks of San Antonio.

This is my favorite! Huge Cowboy boots in front of Saks Fifth AVE. I think it sums up San Antonio. After living here, I am relieved that at least boots have been made the enormous size and not a huge Cheeseburger or Taco! In case you have not heard, San Antonio is ranked in the top 10 of fattest cities!

The infamous Riverwalk. A must see during a visit to San Antonio. It is a tourist trap, and without going there would be like visiting Seattle and not seeing the Space Needle.

Speaking of Needles...San Antonio has its own needle. The Tower of Americas. I do not know the history of it, I have not been there, but I think the top rotates just like the Space Needle. I do see it each night when walking the dog, as we live a stone throw from downtown.

The Missions. There are five within San Antonio. Established in 1718 by the Franciscans and Spanish representatives to convert. I have only been to one, David and I came upon it late at night the day after Halloween. It is definitely a spooky place. It is a National Park, and located next to it is the City's Juvenile Detention Center!? And then on the other side of the Missions is neighborhoods, old established Mexican neighborhoods. A good place for a doe eyed white couple to hang out at night!
